School Emergency Training Exercise (SEMTREX)

On 21 February, the college was involved in Exercise Rhinos, a School Emergency Training Exercise (SEMTREX) conducted by MOE’s Security and Emergency Planning Office (SEMPO).

Objectives of the exercise:
  • To practise the evacuation and accounting of the school population in an emergency
  • To provide members of the School Emergency Structure (SES) an opportunity to practise and be familiar with carrying out their emergency roles and work processes in accordance with the School's Emergency Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • To validate the School's Emergency SOP

The exercise lasted from 9.30am to 11.00am.

To simulate a real emergency, students were not given prior notice of the emergency exercise.
