AJXperience 2017

On 4 January 2017, a large group of Secondary Four students from the class of 2016 joined us for the AJXperience.

The morning started with a hearty and chatty breakfast with their secondary school seniors at the AJ Hostel. Our Principal, Ms Tay Lai Ling, then addressed the group, sharing with them the niche programmes and support structures available in AJC. AJX participants then got a chance to sit in for exploratory General Paper, Project Work and Biology lessons by our tutors.

AJ Alumna Ms Sharanya Pillai also spoke to the participants, sharing with them fond memories of her time at AJ.

After lunch, AJX participants were then taken on a tour of the college as well as the AJ Hostel. Having visited some of the newly renovated rooms, it was time to test out the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) and Dance Studio as participants tried their hand at volleyball and hip-hop! Others were also thoroughly entertained by our StAJeWorks actors who (literally) walked them through several drama techniques. A visit to our very own Nanolab rounded up the CCA segment of the day.

Three of our current J2s - Kum Yew (05/16), Vanessa (25/16) and Shreya (27/16), then took the stage to share what the past one year at AJC has been like for them. The day ended with AJX participants interacting with these J2s and even the School Leaders over tea, asking questions and sharing their own account of the day.

All in all, it was a day packed with various activities, giving our AJX participants a sneak peek of the AJXperience.

But if you missed the chance to participate in AJX 2017, fret not! Come down to the AJ Open House 2017 on 12 Jan 2017, 11am to 5pm!
